Weight training is back on the table.

I’ve decided that I need to change a few things about my training. Not to do with it not working before, but slightly different emphasis.

I’m working on the mental side of things (a lot of my Christmas presents were books about sport psychology!  But I’ve decided to put weights back into my training again. For the past 10 months or so, all I’ve done is row, and do some core work.

Now, I’ve decided to put the weights back into my routine. For a few reasons – hopefully the main one is to help my rowing, but although I’ll admit to a fair share of vanity for this, I’ve noticed that some of my strength (lifting stuff) isn’t there any more, and I’d rather have all over power, not just rowing power.

Who knows if this will be a mistake for remaining lightweight, but I’m enjoying it right now – so will continue, and will keep an eye on my weight.

If you’re interested in some of the exercises I’ve added into my training, here’s a (comedy) timelapse video. I’ll write a proper post about it soon.
